Discreet, removable orthodontic aligners for adults

Invisalign® clear aligners (also called invisible® braces, clear braces or teeth aligners) straighten teeth without the look of traditional metal orthodontics. At Market Street Dental, the full treatment is provided in Kyneton, from your first scan through to monitoring appointments and the retainers worn at the end.
One thing many patients appreciate about Invisalign® is that the aligners are difficult to spot. They’re made from a smooth, near-invisible thermoplastic and sit close to your teeth, so most people won’t notice you’re wearing them.
If your teeth are a little crowded, gapped or sitting out of line, or if you live with an overbite, underbite, crossbite or open bite, Invisalign® clear aligners may be worth a conversation.

Invisalign® may be suitable for a range of orthodontic concerns, including:

Overbite

Underbite

Crossbite

Open bite

Gaps between teeth

Crowded teeth

Mildly crooked teeth
You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how far technology has come since the days of braces, brackets and wires.
Invisalign® guides your teeth into a new position with a sequence of custom-made clear aligners, each one continuing the work of the one before. There’s no wires to tighten and no brackets to mind, and when your teeth are ready for the next stage we simply hand you the next set.

We sit down with you, look at your teeth, listen to what you’d like to change and talk honestly about whether Invisalign® suits your case. There’s no expectation that you commit on the spot.
If Invisalign® looks like a fit, we’ll take a digital scan of your teeth. It’s quick and mess-free, with no putty in sight.
We’ll walk you through a visualisation of how your teeth may move over the course of treatment, so you can see the direction of travel before your first aligners.
Your aligners are made to your scan. You’ll wear each set for the recommended timeframe, typically 20-22 hours per day, and then progress to the next as per the schedule provided.
We’ll see you for periodic review appointments (less frequent than for braces) throughout treatment to make sure everything is tracking as planned. If needed, we may make small adjustments or provide an additional set of aligners or refinements as per the treatment plan.
When your final aligner has done its work, we’ll review your progress together and discuss retention. Wearing retainers after Invisalign is important for keeping your teeth in their new position.

As with all cosmetic treatments, the results will vary from patient to patient. That’s why we’ll consult with you to create a tailored Invisalign® plan where you’ll see a digital preview of how your smile will change over the coming months before you begin treatment.
SmartStage™ technology lets us map out every movement of every tooth, in sequence, so we can show you a preview of your smile before your first aligner goes in.

Clear aligners and traditional braces both work to straighten teeth, but they suit different cases. Aligners tend to appeal to patients who want a more discreet option along with the flexibility to remove their orthodontic appliance whenever needed. Traditional braces are recommended for more complex tooth movements.
Whether Invisalign® is the right approach for your smile depends on the complexity of your case. We’ll let you know honestly at your consultation, and if a different treatment is better suited to your teeth we’ll walk you through that as well.
Invisalign® aligners are made from transparent material which is designed to sit close to your natural tooth line, so most people won't realise you're wearing them.
Each set is custom-made to your teeth, so the fit tends to be close. It is also less abrasive to the inside of your mouth and soft tissues compared to braces.
You can take your aligners out to eat, brush, floss, or drink anything other than cool water. Whatever your week looks like, the aligners can come out when it makes sense and go back in when it doesn't.
Once your treatment is underway, we usually see you every six to eight weeks for a check-in. If something doesn't feel quite right between appointments, our Kyneton team is only a phone call away.
Invisalign® cost depends on the complexity of the case and the length of the treatment plan. Some cases can be completed in around six months, while more involved cases may take 18 months or longer. After a consultation and the initial 3D scan, you’ll receive a clear written quote covering the full treatment, with payment plan options through Afterpay and Zip Pay where required.
All major health funds are accepted via HICAPS, including NIB and CBHS as preferred providers, and patients with orthodontic cover on their extras may be able to claim back a portion of the treatment depending on their level of cover.

You’ll receive a clear written quote after your consultation. If needed, we also offer payment plans through Afterpay or Zip Pay which allows spreading the total fees into bite sized instalments over the period.
